The City and County of Broomfield (CCOB) is seeking to update the playgrounds in Northmoor Park and at Broomfield County Commons Yellow Pod. CCOB aims to provide the community with playgrounds that are engaging and safe environments for children to play and explore, while also promoting physical activity and imaginative play.
Northmoor Park Playground
The southernmost existing playground at Northmoor Park is located near the intersection of E 13th Avenue and Cedar Street, directly west of the Bal Swan Children’s Center. The current playground includes equipment for 2 to 5-year olds as well as 5 to 12-year olds, an ADA accessible climbing structure, swings, a rope climbing structure, sensory play area, and several additional free-standing pieces of play equipment and was installed in 2003.
The project in this location consists of a partial removal and replacement including:
Removal and replacement of the top layer of the poured-in-place surface under the ADA accessible climbing structure,
Removal of retaining wall and sand table in the sensory play area,
Removal and relocation of seating around the playground,
Removal of the poured-in-place and all freestanding play equipment at the north end of the playground to be replaced with engineered wood fiber,
Removal and disposal of existing climbing structure,
Painting of the swing set and replacement of any elements that need replacement,
Design and installation of a new sensory play area (possibly in the same location, possibly in a different location), and
Design and installation of new play equipment to replace what has been removed.
