Neighborhood Meeting

A neighborhood meeting was held on April 3, to provide information about an upcoming proposals to rezone the Markel and Wottge Open Space properties to Broomfield’s recently approved “Open Space” (OS) zone district. A single meeting was held for both properties at the Aspen Creek K-8 Library, as noted in the Neighborhood Meeting Notice.


Thirteen members of the community attended the meeting. The presentation started at approximately 6:06 pm. Following the presentation, attendees asked questions and engaged in general discussion. The meeting concluded at approximately 6:30 pm.

City Council approved the rezoning of a portion of the Markel Open Space from the legacy Boulder County Agricultural A(B) district to the Broomfield Open Space OS district on July 30, 2024. A Comprehensive Plan land use map amendment to change the property land use designation from residential to open lands was also approved as part of this application.
