Feedback Results
Thank you for your feedback! Ninety-five total responses were received from the Broomfield Voice survey and a mailed letter to the neighborhood. The general feedback was:
- Flex Posts do not look good
- They do not slow vehicle speeds
- They are difficult to navigate at the intersection
- Flex posts get in the way of on-street bicycles
- Flex Posts do improve pedestrian safety
Due to your responses, the flex posts installed at Nickel St. and Lotus Way along W. 6th Ave will be removed. City staff are making a new proposal to neighborhood pedestrian traffic concerns. View the full results.
Project Background
To address neighborhood concerns, the City and County of Broomfield conducted a pilot project to see if flex posts can be a possible solution to reduce speeding and/or improve safety for all modes of travel throughout Broomfield. Flex posts were installed at Nickel St. and Lotus Way to create curb extensions. These installations can be deployed quickly at a low-cost. The intent is to change how drivers perceive the roadway width and improve safety for all modes of transportation.
