Broomfield Youth Take the Lead on Teen Space Design

At the end of February, a focus group of Broomfield teens had the chance to build on the feedback gathered from the community-wide County Commons Teen Space survey administered this past November. The City and County of Broomfield hosted an engagement event where they were able to give direct input on specific equipment and features that they would like to see in the space.

They reviewed design options and helped narrow down the choices to reflect what matters most to them—from spaces to hang out and socialize, to areas for physical activity and creative expression. This kind of hands-on involvement is critical to ensure that the final design truly reflects teen voices while continuing to consider the needs and input of the broader community.
