Please take this brief survey to help us understand how we can make Broomfield better for our citizens and our businesses. This survey is an important part of creating Advance Broomfield, an economic vitality strategy for the City and County of Broomfield. Your survey responses will assist in identifying initiatives to guide the economic vitality and quality of life improvements over the next five+ years.
The City and County of Broomfield relies on a healthy economy to create quality jobs, provide goods and services and generate tax revenue to deliver the excellent services that our residents expect. Our continued prosperity as a community relies on sound planning for the future – how Broomfield best capitalizes on future economic trends, maximizes opportunities for our residents and balances growth with our desired quality of life. Objectives of the Economic Vitality Strategic Plan include:
Create a forward-thinking economic vitality strategy for Broomfield that encompasses existing conditions and competitive advantages, considers Broomfield’s unique position in the Denver-Boulder region and anticipates future market shifts in demographics and lifestyles.
Refresh the mission, services and structure of the City’s economic development division.
Engage city staff, business and civic leaders and other community stakeholders in a participatory process to develop the economic vitality strategic plan.
Develop recommendations to guide economic vitality in Broomfield and enhance its value proposition for all community stakeholders.

The external
environment assessment is intended to understand
the myriad economic and political forces that are currently shaping
Broomfield. It will include a market
assessment and evaluation of market opportunities, including local market
data, evaluation of Broomfield’s challenges and opportunities, positioning
strategies, comparison with peer cities, and comparison to national trends in
demographics, lifestyles and technology. It will include extensive stakeholder engagement via one-on-one
visits with key leaders and stakeholders, facilitated ‘roundtables’ to discuss
economic priorities, a series of economic vitality workshops with City Council,
and an online community outreach survey.

will develop a holistic economic
vitality framework that looks at a variety of factors that support both the
long-term prosperity and sustainability of Broomfield. The framework will
include conventional economic vitality focus areas such as primary employment
retention and recruitment, small business support, retail and dining, and
enlivening aging corridors. Additional focus areas may include workforce
development, diverse housing stock, transportation, arts, social equity and
inclusion. It will include areas of
program and project emphasis, organizational adjustments, collaboration
opportunities, identification of benchmarks and performance metrics, and other
suggested steps strengthen the economic vitality program’s capacity to support
the evolution and prosperity of Broomfield.
