Residents in the area were asked to complete a short survey regarding the future of this sign which closed on April 6, 2023 after a month of being active. We received a total of 171 responses, four of which were received via phone call. 37% responses were in favor of repair/rebuild the monument sign in its current location and 63% of the responses were in favor of removal. Based on the resident feedback, the monument sign will be removed without replacement and a future CIP project (not yet scheduled) can be considered to engage the neighborhood regarding a new sign design and placement.

Project Details
In 2002, the Broomfield City Council adopted the Broomfield Heights Neighborhood Plan following an extensive two-year public outreach effort with neighborhood residents and businesses. The purpose of these efforts was to work collaboratively to preserve and enhance the character inherent in Broomfield's oldest residential subdivision.
One action item identified in the Plan was the installation of entry signage and a landscaped median at West 1st Avenue and Emerald Street (see Project Location map). The project was later installed as a City capital improvement project. Over the years, since the sign's installation, there have been mixed reviews expressed on the desirability of the sign in this location.
This sign was recently damaged and the debris has since been removed. Broomfield is now exploring whether to rebuild or repair the sign or to remove it altogether. Broomfield is requesting input from the neighborhood on the preferred course of action.
